How to Book an Appointment

We try to ensure that patients are given an appointment with their doctor of choice. To book a same-day appointment, please telephone the surgery between 08.30 am and 9.30 am on
01275 835625. We also have a wide number of appointments that can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance and if one of these is required, please telephone after 11.00 am. Our opening hours are on the Surgery Times page.

Routine Appointments are available at least 3 weeks in advance for consultations which may be pre-planned (e.g. medication reviews or sick note renewals). You may request a specific GP for routine appointments. It is recommended that routine appointments are requested after 11.00am each day.

For urgent appointments we will arrange for you to be seen with a minimum of delay but we may not be able to offer a choice of appointment time.

Ring our main switchboard number on
01275 835625 to book an appointment.

Appointments are scheduled to last 10 minutes. If you have more than one issue to discuss with the doctor, please request a double appointment so that the doctor has adequate time to treat you.

There are three ways to receive an appointment at the Health Centre:
  1. Urgent Appointments are available each day for patients with acute conditions which need urgent examination by the doctor. Priority will be given for these appointments between 08.30am and 09.30am each day.
  2. Triage Appointments are available if you require a telephone consultation with our on-call GP team. Simply call the surgery and provide your telephone number and ensure that you are available when the doctor calls you. Your needs will be assessed over the phone – and an appointment offered if you need to come to the Health Centre to see the doctor.
  3. Routine Appointments are available at least 3 weeks in advance for consultations which may be pre-planned (e.g. medication reviews or sick note renewals). You may request a specific GP for routine appointments. It is recommended that routine appointments are requested after 09.30am each day.

You can help us by:

  • Being on time for your appointment
  • Letting us know if you need to cancel – we can offer your appointment to another patient
  • Ringing for test results after 2pm – but please remember that we can only divulge the results of tests to the patient
  • Telling us in advance if you wish to be chaperoned during your examination.

Chaperone Policy

We are committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment where patients and staff can be confident that best practice is being followed at all times and the safety of everyone is of paramount importance.

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they feel one is required. Some examinations are considered intimate by patients and/or doctors. These are occasions where a doctor may offer a chaperone to be present. A chaperone will always be a member of our practice team.

Wherever possible we would ask you to make this request at the time of booking an appointment so that arrangements can be made and your appointment is not delayed in any way. Where this is not possible we will endeavour to provide a formal chaperone at the time of request. However occasionally it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment.

Your GP may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations in accordance with our chaperone policy.

If you would like to see a copy of our Chaperone Policy or have any questions or comments regarding this please contact our Practice Manager.
